Fernie, BC - quick update

February 17, 2009

Just wanted to post a quick update. We're in Fernie, BC this morning and we're heading out to Nelson, BC (about a 5 hour drive to the west). As always when we move, we're never quite sure what our setup will be in the next place. Our plan is to stop by the Whitewater Ski Resort and park in the parking lot for a few days. We'd be lucky to have power let alone cell signal or internet.

In Fernie, we're staying at a motel/rv park that has fairly fast wifi, so I figured I post a little somethign real quick.

Fernie has been great, it's served as our introduction to Canada & the Canadian Rockies. Everything here is on a much larger scale. We've been in Fernie since Thursday (2/12) backcountry skied a couple days and inbounds once.

Anyway, here's some pictures to hold folks over until we can give Fernie a proper report.

Have you ben to the hotsprings near Invemere? A National Park or something...., gotta get radar the squirrel that chirps in the gift shop. Sammy would have loved one... ;)

HEY AMANDA, No hot springs in BC yet. We have been skiing everyday since getting here but were thinking about going to Ainsworth tomorrow. Are you guys gonna make it up for a visit? It supposed to start dumping Monday through the week.

Hey lads,
John and I are eagerly awaiting the next long detailed post. We gave Meadows a miss today and instead slept in until 11.20 and have been breakfasting ever since (2hrs and counting). We'd never make it as RVSkiers.

Toni.....I hope you guys are breakfasting on ranch cake at least!!! Hope the snow is good. I updated Victor to Lost Trails and added Lost Trails to Proctor so await no more! The plan is to be caught up by this week so we can start doing updates daily but skiing as a full time job takes a lot more time then I had thought!!! We miss you and look forward to a visit from the Brennan Cunninghams soon. K

Wow! the views are unbelieveable. Actually I would never get to see the ones from up on the mt, as I can't ski. You all look good-especially Radar! (just kidding) You all look happy and healthy!! Please stay that way!!!
